QR codes for decorators

QR codes are nothing new, but in my opinion, they are still underused.

One of the first pushbacks people give about QR codes is that ‘not everyone knows how to use them’.

Well, since we all had to use them everyday during the COVID pandemic, I’m not buying that excuse anymore.

According to Finder.com 84% of UK adults own a smartphone, and that figure is climbing.

So, the majority of your potential customers have a smartphone and know how to scan a QR code.

Plus, let’s not forget, we’re not switching everything in your marketing has to QR codes. It’s just a nice addition.

How to create a QR code (for free):

My preferred place to create a QR code is on the Wix website here

Here you can easily create and download a QR code for a website, contact information card, pdf file and more.

Where to use them:

The possibilities for QR codes are endless.

You can use the contact information cards (vCard) to give people a quick and convenient way of storing all your information on their phone. You could add the QR code for this to your van livery, site boards or flyers.

The same goes for a QR code that leads to your website.

The pdf file option is very useful too.

Anyone who’s printed a brochure or leaflet before knows that 9 times out of 10 the information on there is outdated before you’ve handed them all out.

And that is incredibly frustrating!

If you design a smaller, more generic leaflet with a QR code that leads people to the full pdf brochure, you’ll be able to constantly keep the digital pdf up to date! Meaning whenever someone scans the QR code, they’ll see your latest offers and images.

Plus, it’ll save you money on printing costs!

Whether you find an immediate use for QR codes in your business or not, it’s well worth keeping them in mind. As at some point, they could be the perfect solution to the marketing problem you’re facing.
